46664 and Real Concerts recently announced that Eddie Izzard would be performing in South Africa in support of Nelson Mandela's 46664 campaign. The shows sold out in a matter of hours. Following the huge success of this announcement, 46664 and Real Concerts have joined forces once again, bringing together, for the first time ever, South Africa's top comedians, for It's No Joke - a night of the best of comedy in the country. For one night only on 27th February 2010, It's No Joke will help raise funds for the ongoing work of the Nelson Mandela charitable organizations.
On the line up will be:
David Kau - award winning comedian and host and Co Producer of the popular comedy brand Blacks Only, David as sold out over 20,000 tickets around the country for his one man show I Did These Jokes First, he also won Star Comedian at the Mzansi Awards.
Trevor Noah - Easily recognizable as the face of SARS and the Host of The Real Goboza, Trevor Noah started comedy at the age of 22 and within a year of starting he had already been recognized as one of the heavyweights of South African comedy. Demand for Trevor Noah has grown so much that he had to leave his position as a radio host and even put his acting career on hold to focus on his comedy.
Marc Lottering - has been the recipient of both Fleur du Cap and Vita Theatre awards. Marc has also performed to ex-pats in London, Australia, New Zealand and Toronto. He continues to keep fans entertained with his hugely successful shows From The Cape Flats With Love, Big Stakes And Slap Chips, Hallelujah, and more recently Three Wise Men and Three Wiser Men directed by David Kramer.
Riaad Moosa - a qualified doctor, Riaad's humor is based on his experiences as a young Muslim relating to post-911 Islamaphobia growing up in Cape Town and general observational and opinion-based humour. Skirting around the relatively taboo topics with charm and ease this comedy doctor will split your sides and keep you in stitches at the same time. Now, a regular headliner on comedy circuits all over South Africa, Riaad is also a sought after act for the bigger productions.
John Vlismas - 2008 Finalist: Yuk Yuk's Great Canadian Laugh Off. SA Comedy Award Winner: Stand Up of the Year 2007. Of the stand up comedians working the circuit in South Africa today, John has the widest international profile.
Chris Forrest - has been on the forefront of South Africa's comedy scene for close to ten years now. His unique dry sense of humour has made him one of the country's most popular comedians and ensured that audiences are left in stitches wherever he goes.
Ndumiso Lindi - Known for his trade mark hat, funky urban stylish look and brilliant impersonation of the Madiba Jive, Ndumiso Lindi is regarded as one of South Africa's top black comedians. An entertainer with flair, Ndumiso delves into honest observations of everyday life in South Africa; the diversity of South African cultures; as well as the uniqueness of black people.
Nik Rabinowitz - awarded South African "Stand-up of the Year" for 2008/09, Nik currently presents "The Week that Wasn't" for talk radio stations Cape Talk & 702, has just completed a sold out season of his fifth one man show, "uNik", and cannot wait to be reunited with his Muslim and Christian brethren for the much-anticipated return of Three Wiser Men.
Tumi Morake - One of the funniest woman in the country, Tumi's first stand up performance was scripted material for corporate events. She later went on to perform at the Rotaract charity event "Best Medicine" in the 2003 and 2004. Big comedy events include Have A Heart for Child Welfare, The Heavyweight Comedy Jams and Blacks Only comedy shows.
BARRY HILTON, "The Cousin" - enjoys international status as a stand-up comedian and is undoubtedly one of South Africa's top comedians. A skilful, generous and engaging entertainer, he performs at the highest level, pulling out all the stops for sold-out audiences in SA and abroad. With his irrepressible sense of humour, he brings the house down whenever he stands on stage; he is the only SA comedian who regularly sells out 4000-seater venues with his one-man show (recently Cape Town's 5000-seater Grand Arena). Barry is also renowned for starring in commercials, television shows, two movies and producing DVDs and CDs.
February 11th 2010 marks the 20th anniversary of Nelson Mandela walking free from his 27 years incarceration. This historic world event was the foundation that brought freedom to a country that was once segregated and full of turmoil. It is because of this hugely significant moment that South Africa is now able to welcome many global, cultural and entertaining events.
Tim Massey, International Director of 46664 says "By using the universal language of sport, music and entertainment we can deliver messages of care, prevention and hope to the youth and young adults of the world. We are delighted with the reaction to the announcement of Eddie Izzard's gigs and we are now equally thrilled to have all these top acts, performing together on one line up. We hope this will be the beginning of many more 46664 comedy events to come both in South Africa and internationally."

About 46664:
The 46664 campaign takes its name from Mr. Mandela's Robben Island prison number. He was prisoner number 466, incarcerated in 1964. Inspired by the vision and leadership of Nelson Mandela, the 46664 campaign initially focused on generating global awareness of HIV AIDS through the staging of international concerts and sporting events throughout the world. 46664 has now widened its focus to support the broader humanitarian work of the Nelson Mandela charitable organizations.
Following Mr. Mandela's 90th birthday celebrations in London's Hyde Park in June 2008, 46664 launched the inaugural "Mandela Day" in New York in recognition of Mr Mandela's legacy and the ongoing work of his charitable organizations. Mandela Day will henceforth be celebrated annually on Mr Mandela's birthday, July 18th in South Africa and internationally. On November 11th 2009 the United Nations unanimously resolved to endorse the day and from hereon July 18th will be known as Nelson Mandela International Day.
In 2010 Madrid plays the international host to Nelson Mandela Day.
The 46664 campaign is supported by over 100 international ambassadors from the world of sport and entertainment.
